Biographical / Historical
January 1962 of the Elon Reporter, The Bulletin of Elon College was the first publication in a series of bulletins that were distributed to the Elon community. As stated by Elon's president at the time, Dr. James Earl Danieley, "This is the first in a series of bulletins to be known as the 'Elon Reporter.' The purpose of this publication is to communicate with the parents of our students and others who have expressed a definite interest in Elon." In this collection, the title Elon Reporter, The Bulletin of Elon College existed from January 1962-March 1964. Beginning in January 1966, the title changed to Bulletin of Elon College, and lasted until December 1971. The publications title changed again in March 1972 to The Reporter, Bulletin of Elon College, and the last issue of this title we have in the collection is April 1974. The Reporter included articles that were of interest to the friends and community of Elon College. The newsletters in this publication include a wealth of information relating to Elon including (but not limited to), events on campus, honor societies, buildings and campus spaces, faculty notes, fundraising initiatives, student clubs and organizations, etc. It is unknown when the publication officially ceased to exist, but the last issue in this collection is April 1974.
