Scope and Contents

This collection includes documents and information about the security incident at Virginia Tech and how to stay safe on Elon’s campus. This collection is arranged alphabetically and then chronologically by type of material and/or title of document. Folders include campus safety reports, campus security events, crime statistics, dating violence participation guide, E-net news articles, emergency cell phone article, memorandum-assaults, newspaper clippings, sexual assault awareness month, and many forms of correspondence. The items in this collection offer a glimpse into the processes involved in promoting students help the department create a safe campus, as well as an informational resource to help manifest what the department is already doing to achieve this goal. One of the larger series in the collection (Newsletters) offers past and relevant examples of how Elon attempts to inform students on the promotion of safety on Elon’s campus.
