Harper, W. A. (William Allen), 1880-1942

The bulk of this collection includes correspondence from Dean of Women for Elon College, Iva Diehl to her husband George West Diehl from 1930-1931 while Iva Diehl was Dean of Women at Elon University and Mr. Diehl was obtaining his PhD from the University of Chicago.

This collection includes materials relating to William Allen Harper, President of Elon College from 1911 to 1931. These are the only known "Presidential Files" we have from Dr. Harper's administration. Some of the materials relate directly to his time as President, while other documents have been collected over the years to form the collection.
