This collection includes materials from denominations related to the history of Elon College and Elon University, including the Christian Church, the Congregational Christian Church, the Evangelical and Reformed Church, and the United Church of Christ. Documents include programs, addresses, articles, reports, correspondence, minutes, essays, pamphlets, bibliographies, contracts, brochures, resolutions, flyers, financial documents, maps, calendars, and newspaper clippings.

Abstract

This is a collection of materials regarding the proposed union between the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church, which created the United Church of Christ in 1957. Documents are from both the pro-union and anti-union perspectives. Material include newsletters, booklets, pamphlets, leaflets, correspondence, brochures, broadsides, and packets. This collection is arranged by document type, and then chronologically.
